My friend has come here for reviews and I finally got to experience it with her. We did not make reservations so we did not get to sit at the counter, which I recommend doing if you can. The food was still really good. I always get chawanmushi whenever I see it on the menu and this one had a lot of fillings. The salmon trio was really good. Will definitely be back.
This is a hole in the wall kind of place. I came across this restaurant by a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint.
Like other suggested, I called around 10a to make a reservation for a seat at the bar. I arrived on time and the staff was able to take me to my table almost immediately upon arrival.
I ordered the omakase for a special occasion. The chef asked for any services or anything that I don't eat after that, plates of sushi just started to appear in front of my eyes. I like how the chef prepared a variety of sushi including some of the ones that I've not heard about. One of my favorites was the striped jack. Each individual piece has its own sauce, and the fish was really fresh.
At the end of the meal, I was almost shocked by the bill. Not bc how expensive it was but how affordable it was with the type of food served. I will highly recommend this place and come back for future visits!
Nana San is a must visit for sushi fans, fantastic fish quality and amazing service. Solid sushi bar order-as-you-go which seems to be rare these days. Ambience can be a bit loud on a busy night, but id say it's lively and not overkill.

Great sushi, great service! This place is packed for lunch and dinner so please call to make a reservation. Food is super fresh made to order, great presentation, one of the best sushi places in OC.

Sushi is AMAZING here!!!! The fish is so fresh and everything we've ordered has been top notch. The reason for 4 stars is because it is incredibly difficult to get a seat/reservation here and the service is very slow. Don't expect to be in and out if you're on a time crunch.
Absolutely enjoyed my time here! The 15 course Omakase was excellently done and each piece was tasty and well thought out. I also ordered the oyster appetizer and was surprised it included my favorite Kumamoto oyster. Definitely saved as a favorite of mine for future visits. I am coming back again today with some friends.
